Federation of Small Business - the FSB is the UK's largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms.
British Chambers of Commerce - The BCC is the national body for a powerful and influential Network of Accredited Chambers of Commerce across the UK; a Network that directly serves not only its member businesses but the wider business community.
Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce - the local Chamber covering the Thames Valley. We are a member and definitely recommend it.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales - the Institute we are a member of which has lots of information on the accountancy profession.

Government sites
Companies House - this provides information for Limited Companies, including name searches and basic company information. You can also file your Annual Return and other forms online using their WebFiling service.
Direct Gov - information on public services and all branches of the goverment all in one place.
HMRC - advice for small businesses and those going self-employed on all things to do with Tax. It's surprisingly helpful and full of useful information.
HSE - Health and Safety made simple.
